They called me.
They asked me for a third reference, and then asked when I would be able to start. I’m feeling positive. I’m feeling bloody positive.

An old friend contacted me out of no where today.
We used to be really close and talk and email each other a lot when he was living overseas. But then he came home and moved pretty far away from home, got a new girlfriend and we never saw each other. I eventually found a boyfriend and we just drifted. Today he messaged me a general ‘Are you still alive?’ message. I get them, or send them, now and then when we remember we’ve...

Today I'm pretty damn proud of myself.
My job interview this morning went smashingly. Walked out there with absolutely no regrets, and if I don’t get the job, I’ll be happy knowing that I did my best. The interview went for almost an hour though, so it was pretty intense! But they gave me great feedback and said I did well. So fingers crossed. :) Other than that, opportunities have really been throwing themselves at me! I...

Everybody check out Hiatus Kaiyote on Fox News DC! They are an incredible Australian band absolutely killing it overseas at the moment on their first international tour. I went to school with Nai, the lead singer, and she is one of the MOST talented beings I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Seriously, if you haven’t clicked play yet, what are you waiting for?

Finally Friday
and after two days off work sick, a round of antibiotics and vitamins, two boxes of tissues and a lot of Vicks VapoRub, I’m feeling half decent. The good news is, I have a job interview next week! Very excited, extremely nervous, but hoping ill rock it and take a big step forward in the career path!

Things I'm Grateful For Today.
Today isn’t a great day. Nothing has gone wrong, but I’ve been feeling anxious since I woke up. Like my heart is in my throat and my body can’t keep up with my mind. As someone who generally likes to look on the bright side, I thought maybe I’d focus on the good, despite the day being a bit of a challenge. Today I am grateful for eggs on toast cooked by my boyfriend....

A world without internet.
Last night I had a ridiculously intense dream. The internet was ending. It was going. It was banned. Poof! Gone! The main theme of my dream was that the internet was shutting down for good all over the world and we were counting down to the moment it switched off. Like a doomsday clock. Everything was havoc! People were panicking in the streets! It was really nuts actually. Imagine a world...

domblr: Remembering Peter Harvey →
domhennequin: It’s the pregnant pause that sadly won’t heard again. That tension filled gap between “Peter Harvey” and “Canberra” would never fail to pull the focus of each person sat on the living room couch at the close of one of his memorable reports. Peter Harvey succumbed to his battle with…

Peter Harvey died today and I'm just so, so sad.
RIP Peter. Journalism lost one of its greats today. My thoughts are with your family, friends and colleagues. Sunday nights will never be the same without you.

Job application submitted!
And thanks to a wonderful, wonderful friend of mine, it’s the first application I actually feel proud and confident about in a long time! If I get this job, I shall pay him in coca cola and pizza with my very first pay packet! Everyone cross your fingers for me! (And toes, and legs, and arms…)

Ben Reeson: The Right and Anti-Welfare Noise →
benreeson: Dear Welfare Haters, It’s the quality “I work hard and don’t want to pay for dole bludgers” line that really gets me. Like somehow extolling your ‘hard’ work before being arrogantly selfish somehow makes it ok. Just so much anti-welfare noise! Don’t get me wrong there are inherent problems… TOO GOOD. JUST…TOO GOOD.
